Xiaomi Mi Smart Robot Vacuum Cleaner Review

Hello, and welcome to my Xiaomi Mi Smart Robot Vacuum Cleaner review! I made a quick video review to show one of its scheduled cleaning sessions (together with a commentary), but I also wrote my pros and cons in this post.

WHERE TO BUY

To help lessen my cleaning time of our studio unit every week, and because manually vacuuming the whole place isn’t good for my scoliosis, the Cupcake and I bought a smart robot vacuum cleaner during one of the Lazada sales.

PRICE

Its original price was around P15,000, but it went on sale for about P13,000.

The first time we used it, I posted a few videos on my Facebook and Instagram Stories. A lot then replied to ask if it was worth the investment! Because of their questions, I decided to do a Xiaomi Mi Smart Robot Vacuum Cleaner review below.

 

PROS AND CONS

Setting it up is really easy. We use the same app that controls the security cameras we bought last year to monitor Booboo and Bellatrix while we’d be in the office. The first time we ran it, it scanned the entire unit to memorize the floor area.

It picks up hair fall, food crumbs, dust, and broken down kitty litter on the floor areas that it can reach. Unlike the usual vacuum cleaners, this one is really quiet—so I don’t have to worry about it disturbing our neighbors.

I did mention one con in the video, which is that it can’t step down to our bathroom to also clean that space. Another downside I failed to share is its size—because I find it too big. But I think that’s because we live in a small studio unit, so I can’t really blame it for taking up more room than I anticipated. However, how it has helped me with my cleaning routine (and reduced my cleaning time) more than makes up for it. My only wish is that it can cover more areas (that it can’t reach because of its size)—like under our dining table, work tables, and bed. On the flip side, I don’t mind vacuuming those areas manually once a week. It still cuts my cleaning time by at least 30 minutes to an hour.

VERDICT

I know it’s only been a couple of months, but I’m really happy with our smart robot vacuum cleaner. It’s definitely way more affordable compared to a Roomba, which is twice the price! The Xiaomi Smart Robot Vacuum Cleaner can clean about 16 to 17 square meters of our 38-sqm studio unit, and only takes about 15 to 20 minutes. And in terms of battery life, only 10% of the battery is consumed. If you watched the video, you can also see the dust bin, which the Cupcake cleans once a week.
