Residents and frequent visitors of Pasig have a lot to be excited about because Estancia at Capitol Commons is finally open, with new shops and restaurants to explore. With Capitol Commons having access to Shaw Boulevard and Ortigas Avenue, it’s a convenient haven not just for residents but also for the working class in the nearby business district.
Estancia means “to stay a while” and was built to create an atmosphere that celebrates food, fashion, and entertainment. It will be home to over 70 retailers and feature brands such as Isaac Mizrahi, Aeropostale, Eden Park, AGATHA Paris, Kurt Geiger, and MBT. Aside from shopping, Estancia also offers so many dining options both within the mall and outside, surrounding it.
The Cupcake and I were fortunate enough to have a first look at the new urban style sanctuary last December 6, and participated in the Urban Flavors event, which brought together all the known food establishments of Capitol Commons, such as Ba Noi, Black Olive, XO46 Bistro Filipino, Cara Mia Gelato, Larcy’s Cupcakery Cafe, and Tipsy Pig. For a minimum fee of Php 500, guests will be able to enjoy a taste of these restaurants (in small portions) while being serenaded by the country’s top jazz and acoustic performers throughout the day.
I had so much fun pigging out. My strategy of skipping breakfast worked really well, because I was able to make the most out of each dish I got to try. My favorite stall was XO46 not just because of their yummy binagoongan dish but also because their cheerful servers spoke in straight Filipino and greeted each passerby with a bright smile. “Magandang hapon po, Senyorita/Senyorito!” they would say.
The last Urban Flavors event will take place on December 13 and 14. Just visit the ground floor of Estancia at Capitol Commons anytime between 11am to 9pm to get yourself a food pass and indulge in the many gastronomic choices. If I were you, I’d go there early to eat lunch, rest, eat again, rest, then eat again. Haha!
