A few days ago, I received a call from Joanne of Skin House Beauty and Laser Clinic, inviting me to experience their Revlite Laser Treatment. I immediately agreed because of the many benefits I’ve heard about Revlite Laser, not just for the underarms but for the face as well.
Not a lot of skincare clinics offer this service because they don’t have the machine yet, but Skin House Beauty and Laser Clinic offered top-of-the-line amenities that definitely impressed me. They have two branches: one in Quezon City (near Quezon Avenue) and one in Pasig (along Pioneer). Yesterday morning, I went to their branch in Quezon City since it was nearer.
The clinic was small, clean, and cozy, and I like how warm and welcoming their staff were.
I was greeted by the receptionist and was informed that Donna, the esthetician assigned to perform the treatment, was just setting up my room. This gave me enough time to take photos and explore the clinic, situated on the second floor of the EastWest Bank branch along Mayon Street corner Retiro Street, which means parking is so convenient on weekends because there are a lot of spaces available.
Once Donna was finished setting up my room, she checked my underarms to make sure they were okay to undergo the treatment. Some things you have to remember before you undergo a Revlite Laser Treatment (whether on your face or underarms) are:
- Wear sunblock with at least SPF 30
- Don’t wear deodorant at least three days before the procedure
- Don’t use anything that has glycolic acid, lactic acid, salicylic acid, tretenoin (Retin-A), astringents, azelaic acid, or kojic acid at least three days before the procedure
- Avoid sun exposure
Donna began with my underarms—she first wiped them clean and dried them, then drew temporary marks to make sure she didn’t miss a spot. She also did a test shot just to give me a feel of the slight discomfort. During the procedure, I was required to wear laser-protective goggles.
If you have a high tolerance for pain, the Revlite Laser Treatment is nothing. On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the most painful, I would only give it a 1. The feeling is very similar to a rubber band lightly tapping your skin, but what gives the slight discomfort is the heat that goes along with it. Don’t panic when you smell a certain burning smell—that’s just your hair being zapped away! The procedure for my underarms was really quick—maybe just 15 to 20 minutes for both.
Some benefits of getting a Revlite Laser Treatment for your underarms include:
- Improvement of texture and getting rid of chicken skin
- Removal of dark spots and whitening of the whole underarm area
- Removal of unwanted hair
Since I already had six or seven sessions of Diode Laser Hair Removal for my underarms a few years ago, what I’m really looking forward to is having even smoother, whiter underarms!
After my underarms, I was treated to a Revlite Laser on my face as well. This offers even more benefits, which I’m sure a lot of women would feel giddy about.
Revlite basically makes you look flawless—it treats skin pigmentation, wrinkles, fine lines, aging skin, enlarged pores, and sun damage. It also rejuvenates and refreshes the skin, and keeps it firm and smooth.
Right after you get the treatment, there’s no downtime at all. Your skin may appear a little red, but this is temporary and it fades right away. It’s also relatively safer and more comfortable than other laser treatments, because the heat pulses are short and quick. You’ll notice after a while that skin will continue to improve because new collagen is formed, making skin firmer and fresher.
Revlite Laser Treatment can be a one-time thing to help treat acne, but it can also be something you can do regularly (every four weeks) to combat skin aging. My next treatment will be in April, and I can’t wait to share with you guys the results!.
If you’re considering getting a Revlite Laser Treatment, just remember to follow the post-treatment care instructions so as not to waste time and money:
- Wear sunblock with at least SPF 30 everyday and wait 20 minutes before heading out so skin fully absorbs the product
- Use mild soap and refrain from using any whitening products
- Stay away from sun exposure
This was taken right after my Revlite Treatment on the face.
Skin House Beauty and Laser Clinic offers Revlite Laser Treatment for only Php 3,500 (for the underarms) and Php 7,000 (for the face).
