The Art and Science of Skintology Aesthetics Clinic Makati

Here’s another gem I found inside Salcedo Village (along L.P. Leviste Street). I can’t remember the last time I was in this area of Makati—but it’s quite a memorable place because this was the same area where I worked my first job as a copywriter and marketing assistant a couple of years ago! I remember walking to L.P. Leviste at times to explore and find a place to eat lunch in, and I wish I had discovered Skintology Aesthetics Clinic sooner because it’s easily accessible from my old office.

Love the teal and Audrey Hepburn theme of the clinic! This was the first thing I noticed.

But anyway, it’s still walking distance from where I work now (approximately 10 to 15 minutes away), and last Friday I was invited by Skintology’s President and Co-Founder, Maia Pega, to experience their services.

Skintology Aesthetics Clinic taps both the fields of art and science to provide solutions and special dermatological treatments to anyone seeking distinct results. The clinic began as an endearing startup business established by a group of friends, which eventually grew a strong and positive reputation among its clients and peers. Maia shares that their drive and passion to start the clinic was fueled by wanting to provide an array of quality skin care solutions and state-of-the-art skin care technology, to help give clients the best personal experience and results.

Last Friday, I was able to try a couple of the many services they offered: the Total Beauty Package (Php 1,200) and Cutera Laser Genesis Treatment.

The Total Beauty Package includes a facial cleaning, a facial massage with Vitamin E and aloe vera, and a diamond peel. It was honestly so relaxing that I almost fell asleep! My favorite part was when the aloe vera was being massaged onto my face—the cool feeling really helps you unwind after a long and tiring day.

It was my first time to hear of the Cutera Laser Genesis Treatment, but Dr. Bryan Uy-Baretta (Skintology’s Vice President and Managing Director) walked me through it and explained the many benefits (he also gave me a tour of the whole clinic and talked about the different services they offered).

Cutera Laser helps reduce large pores, fine lines, redness, and blemishes, and makes skin feel a lot smoother. (I can definitely attest to this!) It also addresses hair removal, and can treat burns, a variety of scars, and spider veins.

When I saw different before and after photos, I was so impressed with the number of treatments one tiny machine can do. I think it’s safe to say you get your money’s worth with this laser treatment.

Apart from the services, another thing I noticed is the friendliness of the staff. They were all smiles the whole night, which made me feel even more comfortable and relaxed. All are trained to do most of the services, but some are only performed by the doctor (like acne surgery, pimple injections, botox, IV glutathione, etc.) Dr. Bryan also explained that they always make it a point to get to know the patient and his/her medical history, to make sure the patient is safe to undergo procedures and to keep them well taken care of. Before recommending a service or a procedure, the patient is seen by the in-house dermatologist as well.

The clinic sells their own products, too! I was given a selection that I think is perfect for me—Hypoallergenic Cleanser, Clarifying Toner, Tinted Sunblock, Stem Cell Regenerating Serum, and Hypoallergenic Moisturizer. I’m so excited to try the tinted sunblock because it provides both coverage and protection.

I think if you haven’t found a skincare center in Makati yet, or have not yet invested in skincare, Skintology is the perfect place to go to—they’ve got an in-house dermatologist, they offer a variety of services both for the skin and the body, and they have their own products that they recommend based on your skin type. I’m looking forward to coming back and trying their Total Beauty Package again, just to relieve myself of stress from work and school!
