Hi, everyone! My name is Gretchen Gatan Fragada. I’m a writer and managing editor based in Quezon City, Metro Manila. Welcome to Greta’s Junkyard—a dump of articles on beauty, lifestyle, travel, and more. I started this creative outlet in 2013 and since then, I’ve been using it to document the many milestones in my life. It’s been almost three years since Cayo and I tied the knot. To this day, I still love looking through our wedding photos by Nicolai Melicor and watching our wedding videos by Lula Films. Additionally, I can’t stop admiring my wedding dress. Rosenthal Tee truly went above and beyond in making sure it was a dream come true.
Custom vs. RTW
When I got engaged last August 2018, I already had a clear idea of how I wanted my wedding gown to look. It had to be minimalist and timeless, and have a structured silhouette. I even wrote a blog post about Custom vs. RTW Gowns: Which Do You Prefer?
To visualize it better, and to see if the cut and shape I liked would complement my frame, I visited Rosa Clara and fitted a few designs similar to the wedding look I wanted. I briefly considered getting an RTW gown from them. But with every gown I tried, I noticed that there was something I wanted to alter or change. And in the end, I decided that maybe RTW just wasn’t for me.
So I visited a friend and schoolmate (she’s a batch higher in Poveda and Ateneo) — Rosenthal Tee! It’s a small world that she’s friends with my husband Cayo, too.
Rosenthal Tee Made My Dream Wedding Dress Happen
From the moment she sketched my gown’s design and incorporated her aesthetic, I was in love. Even though I already had a specific vision, I still wanted to get her opinion and see what recommendations she had.
In the end, we found a good balance and came out with my dream gown! Rosenthal Tee suggested using Mikado silk together with French lace. Moreover, she added the most beautiful bow detail. She also made sure I had pockets! This was so useful throughout the whole night of the wedding. I was able to keep my phone, some tissue, and even monetary gifts from guests.
Rosenthal — or Chantal (her nickname) — first measured me in February 2019. This was seven months before our wedding. Then, she measured me again in May because I lost weight after being extra active in playing Ultimate Frisbee. It took only two fittings before I picked up my gown two weeks before the big day.
I remember fitting it for the first time. I couldn’t contain my giddiness! Seeing how it turned out surpassed all expectations I had. It turned out to be the most breathtaking gown I had ever seen. I can’t thank Rosenthal Tee enough for producing such a dream wedding gown.
If you want to get in touch with her, you can visit her website or follow her on Facebook and Instagram. Apart from creating beautiful wedding dresses, she makes entourage gowns and other formal ensembles as well!
