Rejuvehair: Herbal Hair Solution in Manila
I mentioned a few times on Instagram that my hair has been making me feel insecure lately, especially when I was in grad school and workload at Glamourbox was becoming more and more intense. My hair fall became more frequent than usual, which led me to think that my hair was thinning too early (I’m only 26!). It was because of this that I changed the hair products I was using, but I knew this wasn’t enough and that maybe I needed to seek help and advice elsewhere.
Fortunately, Rejuvehair reached out to me a couple of weeks ago and offered to treat me to their Signature Herbal Hair and Scalp Treatment. I’ll talk about my experience in a bit, but for those who aren’t familiar with Rejuvehair yet, it’s owned by Jocelyn R. Ong and her mother, Mary L. Ramirez, who both suffered from dry, thinning, gray hair combined with excessive hair fall. They tried looking for natural solutions, because apart from having sensitive scalps that can’t tolerate chemicals, both believe that nature is sufficient enough to heal and address specific health concerns. In their quest, they were referred to a Hair Specialist in Singapore, Michael Chew, who offers herbal treatments that yielded positive results for both women. They would fly to Singapore once or twice a month to get this treatment done, and brought home essential massage oil blends and specially formulated shampoo and conditioner. In just two weeks, they were able to see how effective it was, so they decided to bring the gift of hair and scalp longevity to the Philippines—thus opening Rejuvehair Herbal Solutions in Greenhills, San Juan.

The treatment originates from a timeless Eastern hair and scalp care system practiced by the Chinese using Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ayurvedic herbs, and Therapeutic-Grade Essentials Oils, to revive the scalp and strengthen hair from roots to tip. Rejuvehair combines the ingenuity of today’s technology with raw food supplements and ancient secrets to rejuvenate and maintain hair and scalp health and longevity.
The ingredients used in their formula are all natural to address different hair and scalp concerns. Through a holistic approach, as well as the right amount of hair nutrition potency, they can stimulate connective tissue cell activity, restore damaged hair structure, and provide much-needed strength and elasticity. They offer a variety of services but what I was able to try was the Signature Hair and Scalp Treatment, which targets falling hair, gray hair, chemically damaged hair, or a problematic scalp.
During my hair consultation with Kyra Yulo of Rejuvehair, I discovered that my hair strands are very fine (making it seem like I have thin hair) but that I still have a lot of hair on my head (hooray!). My only thinning area is the part where my hairline is, which can be addressed by the treatment. Kyra mentioned that my scalp was also red and flaky due to hormonal imbalance, which could be addressed by the treatment as well.
The whole procedure takes about two hours (or more, depending on the length of your hair). The experience felt like going to a salon, but the difference is that Rejuvehair caters to very specific concerns that I’m sure a lot of Filipinas can also relate to.
This is how the paste looks like. It smells a little odd, but I was drawn to it.
After washing my hair, it was straight to the procedure where my whole scalp literally had to be covered with the brown paste. Once my whole head was covered, I was made to wear a bouffant cap and underwent an Ozonated Steaming session for 30 minutes, to open up my scalp and allow the paste to be fully absorbed. Once this was done, they let my scalp cool for another 20 minutes, so while waiting I was given a back and shoulder massage! The last steps were to rinse the whole thing off and blow-dry my hair.
I was told that the paste would temporarily leave a certain stain on my hair, but it eventually faded after 4-5 washes. Apart from this, what I did notice a few days after the treatment was that my hair strands felt thicker and stronger. The odd smell stays for a couple of days as well, but it’s not so bad! If this treatment will address my hair fall concerns, I don’t mind the odd smell nor the temporary stain at all.
Apart from center-based treatments, Rejuvehair also sells products that complement their services and make their hair care system holistic. It’s only been a week, but I honestly feel more confident now that my hair feels thicker on my fingers. So if you’re looking for an herbal hair fall solution in Manila, I highly recommend checking Rejuvehair!
