Living in a country that frequently gets visited by strong or unpredictable rainstorms, it can be a little difficult for a CollegeFashionista to put together an outfit — especially one that works well under the harsh and heavy rain.
My number one concern as a student who moves from one building in the university to another whenever the rain pours is how to protect my feet from getting soaking wet, and my pretty shoes from becoming perpetually damaged. With flip flops out of the question because they violate school dress code and sturdy sandals being a bad idea lest you don’t mind your feet getting splashed on by puddles, flats or sneakers seem to be the most viable options.
But at times, it limits our styling.
As someone who loves to go shopping, I think the best deal is buying something that’s both pretty and practical, and that’s exactly how I felt when I invested in a cute pair of Plueys. Plueys takes ordinary rain boots and transforms them into adorable wellies that most definitely cater to the Fashionista’s taste. They come in different colors, styles and designs. They’re perfect for the monsoons, or on days when all the rain gods decide to cry at the same time.
My favorite designs would have to be Puppy Love and Ooh La Lace. You can wear them with anything, really — tuck your skinny jeans under them, pair them up with shorts or a chic skirt, or you can even try wearing them with a casual dress. The best part is that you never have to worry about your shoes breaking or your feet ever getting wet.
