Pixi by Petra’s Skintreats Launch at Manos Nail Lounge
One of the most tedious things we do at Glamourbox is planning and executing events for our different brand partners—and though this is the case, it’s usually the most fun and fulfilling.
The Glamourbox Squad
As marketing manager, I’ve spear-headed five events for the company yet my favorite one would have to be Pixi by Petra’s Skintreats Launch, which we hosted last May 18, 2016 at Manos Nail Lounge.
If you’ve been a follower of my blog and Instagram for a while now, you’ll know that Manos Nail Lounge is my favorite nail spa in the Metro. Their services are the only ones that I genuinely enjoy, because they have the friendliest and most heartfelt staff, who pamper you to the max and take their time in doing so.
I thought Manos was the perfect venue to host an intimate event for Pixi, because their interiors and philosophy truly complemented the brand. I was very excited to be partnering with them, and it was so easy to transform their lounge into a floral-filled garden party.
Pixi by Petra’s full range of”Makeup to Wakeup,” products including a sneak peek of the SS 2016 Collection
Every little detail highlighted something about Pixi by Petra and the collection—my favorite would have to be this “Got Milk?” area that featured Pixi’s Hydrating Milky Mist and Hydrating Milky Serum (we used real milk for the display!). While the Hydrating Milky Mist is a quick-fix moisturizer mist that provides a surge of hydration thanks to the hyaluronic acid, black oat, and vitamin A it contains, the Hydrating Milky Serum includes rose flower extract, rosehip oil, jojoba oil, and aloe vera to moisturize, heal, and soothe skin after a hard day’s work.
For those of you who have only heard about Pixi’s Skintreats collection just now, it all started a few years ago when their Glow Tonic, a game-changing exfoliating toner, gained a cult-following in the UK. At that time, the product was only exclusive to their market but because of the demand, it was then made available in the US, and then eventually in the Philippines! I’ve only used it once, just to see if my sensitive skin would react to it negatively but it didn’t. I do believe though, that this product is incredibly effective. I gave one as a birthday gift to my mom, and she cannot stop raving about it! Same goes with a lot of beauty bloggers, friends, and customers who consider this product to be a miracle toner. (I plan to alternate this soon with my Avene Eau Thermale Cleanance Lotion Toner.)
And so because of the success of the Glow Tonic, Pixi decided to add 16 more skin-pampering essentials, which were all showcased at Manos last week so that magazine editors, influencers, and fellow beauty bloggers could try and experience the products first-hand. As an additional treat, guests were pampered with quick hand-and-foot massages using oils that they customized from the DIY Massage Oil table. Lavender tea and fresh, cold-pressed juices from Pure Nectar by Fruit Magic were served as well, and I honestly could not get enough of the Coconut Water (I buy this all the time from any Fruit Magic stall!).
I was asked a few times which of the Skintreats products was my favorite and my reply was always the Glow Mud Mask. In fact, I got to try this product before it even arrived here in the Philippines because I asked the Cupcake to buy it from London when he was there last year. It’s a great way to treat yourself after a long week. To make it even more relaxing, I leave the product in the refrigerator so that whenever I use it every Friday evening, it leaves a cooling sensation that quickens the pore-minimizing effect.
