Physiogel Continues Its #FreeInMySkin Movement
It was a lovely evening of reliving the Poveda prom with the Cupcake, as Physiogel invited us to attend the #FreeInMySkin event that took place in the same venue as my prom nine years ago: Rizal Ballroom, Makati Shangri-La Hotel.
Physiogel has always been a brand with a strong identity. I was first introduced to it as a young girl, because this was always the facial wash used in my dermatologist’s clinic. Each time I got a facial cleaning, Physiogel would be the brand of soap displayed—because it’s mild and ideal for sensitive skin.
In fact, come to think of it, whenever I’m invited to try different skin care treatments in a variety of esteemed skin care centers, it’s always Physiogel that I see.
It’s also another staple brand at home. From their cleansers to their moisturizers, there’s always a member in our family who uses it. Hence why I really believe that Physiogel has made such a strong name for itself in the country.
During the Physiogel #FreeInMySkin event, I found out that 60 to 70% of Filipino women suffer from dry and sensitive skin, and this makes an impact on the quality of their life because they tend to be insecure and are unable to fully embrace living life to the fullest.
I can definitely attest to this. I suffer from oily and really sensitive skin, and whenever I break out or experience bad skin days, I always feel like crawling back to the attic and not letting anyone see me. It affects my mood—to the point that I become depressed or cranky!
Cheers to being free in my skin!
Physiogel started its Free In My Skin campaign last year to enable women to find the right solutions to free themselves from dry and sensitive skin. Patti Grandidge, Physiogel’s Brand Advocate, shared her story of how her skin didn’t adjust so well when she moved from California to Manila. She tried so many products and none of these worked, so she decided to visit the dermatologist, who recommended Physiogel. Since then, Physiogel is the only product that cleared up her skin and brought back her confidence.

This 2015, Physiogel strengthens its campaign to help women be more aware of themselves so they can uncover their full potential. The journey starts with the Freedom List Challenge, an online quiz that is a representation of what women can achieve when freed from dry and sensitive skin. I took the quiz that evening and got Inspiring Innovator as the result!
The questions included:
1. Which fitness activities give your skin a post-workout glow?
MY ANSWER: Long run with music
2. Your potential is limitless, so what’s your dream job?
MY ANSWER: CEO of my own company
3. How do you like to show off your beautiful, strong sensitive skin?
MY ANSWER: Relaxing on the beach
4. Everybody has a dream “to do” list. What tops yours?
MY ANSWER: Writing a novel
5. What is your dream holiday?
MY ANSWER: Exploring the culture and ruins of an ancient city
Along with the result was my Freedom List, which included:
1. Prepare at least three healthy meals a week

Apart from highlighting their #FreeInMySkin Movement, Physiogel also launched the new Physiogel Daily Moisture Therapy line, which features the unique Physiogel BioMimic Technology that works to soothe and repair the skin’s natural moisture barrier.
It was definitely a memorable evening and to cap things off, Physiogel awarded 10 smart, strong, and sensitive women who were named as Best Dressed for the night! I was so, incredibly kilig when my name got called and we were all asked to join Patti Grandidge and the rest of the Physiogel team on stage.
Physiogel is made available to Filipinas across the country through Mercury Drug Stores and Watsons branches. You can also find Physiogel in leading pharmacies and supermarkets nationwide.
