Party Like a Rockstar
Nothing looks as grunge chic as throwing on a loose tee with a unique and strong design — take it from this Fashionista who came from class in a black statement shirt, denim shorts and a pair of Dakota shoes. As she slipped on her sunglasses and got ready to walk to her next class, I immediately rushed towards her and asked if I could take a photo of her simple yet eye-catching ensemble. The shirt she wore and the way she carried herself in it made her stand out — very cool and relaxed, just like her style. She gave off such a rockstar vibe.
A friend once told me that statement shirts are the easiest to remember when you wear them, so she doesn’t like wearing them often — especially when the group of people she’s with has seen the shirt before. While it may be true, I think it’s just about playing it up by adding the right accessories or wearing it with different bottoms. You can tuck the shirt in and wear a belt, or wear a vest or a gray cardigan over it. It’s only a matter of getting creative and owning your style!
