Parker Pen Philippines: Why This Pen Brand is So Meaningful to Me
I’ve always been a sentimental person. One of my core memories growing up was when my parents gave me an engraved Parker pen after graduating in Creative Writing from Ateneo de Manila.
I ticked this off my high school bucket list after a career talk in Poveda by columnist and editorial writer Conrado de Quiros, who shared that his favorite pen was a Parker. I told myself that if someday I become a writer, I would want one as well.
My Parker Pen Dream

That dream eventually came true. Though my career journey started in digital marketing, somehow I still ended up pursuing what I really wanted to be. I started as a copywriter, before becoming an account manager, then a marketing manager for four beauty brands. Eventually, I became a managing editor of several online magazines. Simultaneously, I had my beauty blog, which grew to become a lifestyle website and online shop.
Through every challenge I encountered, I always had in my bag the engraved Parker my parents gave me. This is to constantly remind me of the dream I had as a little girl.
A Special Gift Idea

When I gave birth to a baby girl, my husband and I named her after our favorite band, Coheed and Cambria. That, and after my favorite font to write short stories—Cambria. Recently, she was baptized in the same church where we got married. She wore the shoes I wore to my own baptism and a gold bracelet my grandparents gave me. Because of the sentimental details of Cambria’s baptism, I wanted our gift to her godparents to be just as meaningful. So we gave them their own engraved Parker pens—to symbolize their help and guidance as Cambria begins to write the story of her life.
A Heritage Brand

Parker is more than just a heritage brand for me. It will always be a symbol of my dream come true. It excites me to share this story with Cambria someday. And when that day comes, I’ll be sure to also give her the Parker pen that I had engraved for her.
