Now Open: The Spa Wellness in Shangri-la East Wing
I have an insatiable addiction to The Spa—and by addicted, I mean I frequent the place at least once a month—be it in Libis, Eastwood Mall, the Fort, Power Plant, or Greenbelt 1. I memorize all their branches and have mentally bookmarked my favorite services. I have a calling card inside my wallet for every time I want to book a massage in the most convenient branch (depending on where I am). Don’t get me started on how much I’m in love with their Ginger Brew. I sometimes imagine bringing my own gigantic mug and just filling it up—instead of having to go back and forth refilling their small, green porcelain cups.
Even the smell of the whole place is invigorating. There’s just something about smelling the combination of peppermint and citrus that gets me. It calls to me. It opens up my lungs and allows me to just breathe. Let go. Relax. As soon as I enter their double doors, I can’t help but breathe a sigh of relief. As if I’m home.
Strategically placed on the 6th floor in the East Wing of Shangri-la Mall, which is very convenient to those who live or work in the Ortigas area, The Spa Wellness officially opened its doors last January 28, 2014.
The Spa pioneered the concept of luxurious rejuvenation through its incomparable massage therapies, sumptuous body treatments, and sublime facials. Its consistent excellent standards are now upheld as a proud member of the International Spa Association (ISPA) and of the Philippine Wellness and Spa Association (PHILWELL). In celebration of its 18th year, the company gave birth to another milestone in its business—introducing The Spa Wellness. No longer to be called just a spa institution, The Spa Wellness is truly a wellness haven offering luxury relaxation (The Spa) for a tranquil spirit, fitness (barre3) for a strong body, and beauty (SKIN Dermatology & Laser Center) for radiance.
The Spa Wellness in Shangri-la follows a modern interpretation of “The Secret Garden” as guests are met with seamless earth-toned interiors and a tranquil ambiance far away from the business district. It’s complete with The Spa, where guests are welcome to book spa parties. It has a large studio that can accommodate about 20 students for the barre3 classes, and the SKIN Dermatology & Laser Center for those who wish to consult with a dermatologist or get a treatment.
Unlike other branches, The Spa Wellness in Shangri-la houses only Executive Rooms and Suites—making guests feel more regal.
Although I’ve never tried the services of SKIN Dermatology & Laser Center, I’m more than sure it’s exceptional and state-of-the-art—knowing how excellent and quality The Spa’s services and treatments are. I’m really so excited to be booking and trying my favorite services, especially the Traditional Hilot where they use warm virgin coconut oil to soothe and restore, in the new Shangri-la branch. The small and intimate setting makes it truly relaxing.
