New Topping Alert in Starr’s Famous Shakes Milkshake Bar: Horlicks!
Before anything, I’d like to thank Starr’s Famous Shakes Milkshake Bar for sponsoring a Valentine Giveaway on Greta’s Junkyard and generously giving Php1,500 worth of Gift Certificates to one lucky reader.
As of this writing, that lucky reader has already claimed her prize and is probably sipping on some really yummy shakes right now.
Speaking of, did you know that Starr’s recently launched a new topping/flavor this month? Yup! In additional to all the delicious toppings and delectable treats you can choose to add to your shake, Starr’s Famous Shakes Milkshake Bar now introduces Horlicks—a dry blend of malted extract and milk powders developed by James and William Horlick!
Unlike powdered milk or chocolate powder, the texture of Horlicks is courser and drier. So dry and light that when our shakes were served, the slightest breath can blow the powder away to dust.
While I got my usual Vanilla Milkshake, the Cupcake ordered a Toffee Milkshake. Both were topped with a mountain-scoop of Horlicks.
There are two ways you can drink it with your milkshake—one would be to mix the substance into the shake and make it even thicker, which was what the Cupcake did. Since the Toffee is a little bit sweeter, the powder was a great balance to the flavor.
Because I enjoyed the taste of the Horlicks, I tried my best to leave some on top while sipping my way down to the bottom of the plastic cup. Sipping the shake and simultaneously letting the Horlicks melt in my mouth was really delicious even though there were times it almost clogged my straw.
To get to know more about Horlicks, what other shakes it goes well with, and other toppings you can include, visit Starr’s Famous Shakes Milkshake Bar’s Facebook page here.
