Nespresso Inissia: The Most Sulit Appliance in Our Kitchen
It’s been more than a year since my husband gave me a Nespresso Inissia for my birthday. It was a very timely gift because around the same time, we moved into our forever home — the #FraggyHome — after renting and living in a studio unit for a year and a half. Since then, I’ve used the coffee machine almost daily! It’s one of the first things I do when I start my day. Funny enough, I didn’t really experiment with recipes until recently. And I’m so happy that I have a Nespresso Inissia that has elevated my coffee corner at home.
My Love for Coffee
I’ve always loved coffee ever since I can remember. In fact, when I was a little girl and wasn’t allowed to drink caffeine just yet, I would offer to make coffee for my grandfather and his guests. Eventually, when I started working, I explored different blends apart from the usual ones at Starbucks. Then, when I got together with Cayo, he fueled my love for coffee even more. And it was because of him that I started using a French press and drinking my coffee black. It’s this shared love for coffee that we decided to give away three of our favorite local blends from Black Coffee PH during our wedding.

Having a Nespresso Inissia
When I received a Nespresso Inissia for my birthday, one of the first things I did was put together a coffee nook in the kitchen. This way, it would feel like we have a cafe downstairs—since Cayo and I both work from home. Moreover, I felt that having this nook would encourage us to take breaks once in a while. Plus, since I love hosting my family or having guests over, I thought it would be cool to also offer them coffee!
The Nespresso Inissia comes in four colors: black, cream, red, and white. According to the website, the machine is an ideal introduction to the Nespresso world. It’s small, compact, and comes with one-touch espresso (40ml) or Lungo (110ml). The used capsule container has a capacity of 11. It has a folding drip tray to accommodate tall glasses, too. Meanwhile, the removable water tank can hold up to 0.7 liters of water. So that’s approximately 2 to 3 cups of coffee. You press either button to start. After nine minutes, it automatically turns off.
When you buy the machine, Nespresso offers free delivery, two years of local warranty, and a complimentary coffee sampling kit.
Capsule Review
So far, I’m really happy with the machine. Making coffee has been such a breeze. It takes me about five minutes to prepare my usual. Currently, my favorite recipe would be an iced latte. I often use Chiaro, which is ideal for sweet and smooth recipes with milk. Other favorites are Ispirazione Napoli and Cape Town Envivo Lungo.
The whole unit is easy to clean. We make sure to regularly wash the removable water tank and capsule container. Then we use a damp cloth to wipe the outer area. Since Nespresso recycles its capsules, we also don’t throw away anything. We store them in their Recycling Bag and return them once the bag is full.
In terms of performance, I noticed that there’s a difference in the way it expels coffee these days. But I think it’s because our machine is due for descaling. And I plan to buy a Descaling Kit soon to maintain the optimum temperature and quality. I read that the descaling agent gently eliminates the lime scale that builds up over time. By descaling regularly, I am ensured that the tasting experience of my Nespresso Inissia is as perfect as the first day.
