My Strip No Sweat Experience at Strip Megamall
I am on a mission to make my kilikili more perfect than Anne Curtis. Just kidding! I just really want my underarms to be perfect in general. Haha!
And it’s because of this vain mission that I underwent Diode Laser Hair Removal in college to permanently get rid of my underarm hair. I also recently started getting Revlite treatments in Skin House Beauty and Laser Clinic to make my underarms smoother and whiter. With underarm hair, darkness, and chicken skin out of the way, the only thing stopping me from achieving the kilikili of my dreams is the occasional sweating, which usually happens when I work out, when it’s really hot, or when I’m tensed or stressed.
I stopped using deodorant a long, long time ago because the antiperspirant ingredient in deodorants can cause underarms to darken, and it would defeat the purpose of me getting Revlite treatments done. To address the sweating, I just use Milku Powder in the morning so that my underarms stay dry all day.
When I found out that Strip Manila now has a machine that gets rid of the sweating, and invited me to try it, I was super on board! I went last Sunday to their branch in Fashion Hall, Megamall and experienced the Strip No Sweat.
Strip No Sweat basically deactivates your sweat glands, and targets areas where there’s excessive sweating. Apart from underarms, you can also have your soles or palms treated.
Before the treatment, I was given an iodine test to check which areas of my underarms sweat more than usual. You can actually do this at home! Just apply Betadine with a cotton all over the area, then rub cornstarch. Leave it for about 10 minutes. After that, dark brown spots will appear on the areas that sweat excessively!
I took a photo because it would be nice to compare how my underarms are on my first session, and how it would look like after several sessions. It’s only been three days, and I haven’t been using Milku anymore.
The procedure takes about 10 minutes per underarm, depending on your pain threshold. It’s painless, but the heat of the machine can reach up to 40*C. My right was a little more sensitive, because it had more dark brown spots compared to the left, so it could only tolerate about 37 or 38*C. My left, on the other hand, could reach up to 39 or 40. They apply baby oil once in a while to avoid friction, but it’s funny how the oil eventually turns watery because of the heat.
The yellow gun is a laser thermometer they use every few seconds to check on the heat
After the procedure, they applied Ice Cream (it’s literally called Ice Cream, because it’s a recommended soothing, cooling, and calming cream that gives relief and provides lasting moisture), and I was able to go about with the rest of my day without feeling any discomfort at all!
I’m really excited about this new machine from Strip Manila. I think next to getting rid of unwanted hair, it’s also the sweating in certain areas that you want to get rid of for good. Visit Strip Manila in Fashion Hall, Megamall to inquire about this service or check out their website here.

Just an update question, at the moment after one session a year ago, how would you rate the efficacy of this sweat laser treatment? Also, was it effective and worth it?
December 6, 2016 @ 3:47 pm
It was just one session, so I don’t think I was able to experience the full effect as compared to if I did it continuously. 🙂
