My Five Minute Makeup 2.0: Bag Staples
A couple of years ago, I wrote about my “Five Minute Makeup” look—which consisted of five products that were staples in my bag.
Those products have long been replaced by new bag staples, and I’m loving each and every one of them! They’re all much easier to use, and convenient to carry around inside my kikay kit.
1. Benefit’s The POREfessional – Php 1,600
Because of the smooth and matte finish this primer gives, I don’t even need to use powder or foundation anymore. It gives me all the coverage I need, plus it makes my skin look flawless! It’s an amazing product by Benefit Cosmetics. I just wouldn’t recommend using it everyday because like any other product, it could clog up your pores (especially if not cleaned out properly).
2. Color My Brows by Etude House – Php 378
I super love K-Palette and even though I hoard so many brow products, nothing ever replaced it in my bag—that is until I was introduced to Color My Brows by Etude House. I actually own both colors in the photo, and I use it depending on what mood I’m in or what look I’m going for. If I want a softer, more feminine look—I use the blonde one. If I want a sexy, sultry, or more taray look, I use the brown one. I’m fortunate that I have fair skin and light brown hair, so either color works on me.
With this product, you don’t even need to line your brows with an eyebrow liner. You can just go straight to filling it up, and it will look (almost) perfect! (Remember: Eyebrows don’t have to be twins. They just have to be sisters.)
3. Pixi Crayon Combo in Super Natural – Php 890
My favorite thing about this product is that it’s so diverse! It works as an eye shadow and eyeliner, and you can switch it up! Sometimes, I even use the lighter shade to line my waterline and achieve a fresh-faced look.
4. Benetint by Benefit Cosmetics – Php 1,800
I have the entire collection of their tints, but I replaced the Posie Tint in my bag with this one because I realized it goes better with the looks I try to create for myself these days. This was also the first Benefit product I ever owned back when I was in college. First love never dies, I guess.
5. Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler – Php 1,000
Every girl just needs one.
6. They’re Real Mascara by Benefit Cosmetics – Php 1,200
I think it’s pretty obvious what my favorite makeup brand is. But seriously, no other mascara thickens and lengthens my lashes like They’re Real. The only thing I probably don’t like about it is that it’s so hard to remove. I end up looking like a raccoon after using a makeup remover AND washing my face.
7. Shu Uemura Rouge Unlimited Supreme Matte Lipstick in Shade 750 – Php 1,285
I’m a big fan of matte lipsticks, and I love this shade because it’s so neutral. It’s easy to match with any look.
So those are my new bag staples as of January 2015! Here’s what it looks like when put together:
