L’Oreal Paris Pure Clay Mask Anti-Pores Review: My Favorite Mask Lately
Friday nights are usually what I dub my “mask nights,” where after I get home from work and a dinner date with the Cupcake, I relax and unwind by pouring myself a glass of wine, cutting up my favorite Camembert cheese, and applying my favorite mask. For the longest time, I would alternate between GLAMGLOW’s Gravity Mud and Youth Mud, but I have to admit that these masks are a little bit on the pricey side, where each one is sold at Php 3,300.
It wasn’t until I got to road test L’Oreal’s Pure Clay Mask a few months ago that I was convinced to buy my own jar, which happens to be only Php 399. Upon applying it and leaving it for 15 to 20 minutes, you’ll immediately feel the tingling sensation. It doesn’t really sting, but if you have sensitive skin, it might be best to slowly introduce the product—like maybe use it once every other week, before regularly applying it.
The variant I use is Anti-Pores (I also wrote about it in my article on Face Masks for Oily Skin), and it supposedly helps minimize the appearance of large pores. Other variants include the Illuminating and Hydrating Masks—you can read more about the Calyxta Crew’s thoughts on them here.
Meanwhile, what I love about the Anti-Pores Mask is that it does feel like my pores tighten after washing it off. It also has a bit of a brightening effect that makes my skin look youthful and radiant. And for Php 399, I think that’s pretty amazing. I don’t feel so bad about using it more often compared to my more expensive masks.
In my evening skincare routine, it goes in between cleansing and applying a toner. So after I wash my face and take a bath, that’s when I lather on the clay mask, and wait for 20 minutes or until it dries up. When it does, I wash it off and continue with the rest of my regimen (toner, eye cream, essence, and moisturizer).
In the two months that I’ve been using L’Oreal’s Pure Clay Mask, my skin hasn’t reacted negatively at all. In fact, the results are instant and again, for the price you pay, it’s pretty incredible!
