Last March 15, L’Oreal Paris officially launched in the Philippines their best-selling mascara in the United States: Lash Paradise. I first heard about it from Calyxta’s own Marj Maroket, who shared that it’s supposedly a dupe for Too Faced’s Better Than Sex Mascara.
As one would expect when you attend a L’Oreal event, the brand went all out and welcomed us with drinks and pink robes, before pampering us with massages, delicious poke bowls (from my favorite Ono Poke PH!), cold cuts, cheese and cotton candy, and makeover stations!
It was definitely a lot of fun being taken to paradise, and with all the hype about this highly-anticipated mascara, I wrote a quick review on Instagram. Check it out below:
Okay, so here’s a micro-review of the highly anticipated Lash Paradise Mascara. When it comes to holy grails, I’ve already found my staples for certain things (Benefit for my primer, RCMA for my foundation and setting powder, K-Palette for my brows and liquid eyeliner, etc.) but if there’s one thing I haven’t found yet, it’s the perfect mascara. For a while, I was so obsessed with Pixi’s Lash Booster Mascara (I still use it though!) but what I don’t like about it is the heavy chemical scent. Another favorite for me is Maybelline’s HyperCurl Mascara, because it’s the one mascara that keeps the curl of my lashes and doesn’t give me panda eyes. When Lash Paradise was officially launched here two weeks ago, I was a little skeptical because promise, it’s so hard for me to find a good mascara. I have long lashes but they’re straight, so it’s difficult to find a formula that can keep my lashes up (even after I’ve curled them with a Shu Uemura eyelash curler). PLUS I get panda eyes with almost every mascara I’ve tried (especially after hours of wearing it). Ang hirap talaga!!! 😂 But then @maaanfernandez road-tested Lash Paradise and after that, she kept raving about it being her new holy grail. Which is major, because I’ve always known the girl to be obsessed with her Maybelline HyperCurl. So I tried it myself and true enough, after wearing it the entire day (from 2pm to 10pm), it didn’t give me panda eyes at all. It gave my lashes dramatic volume, but what it didn’t keep was the curl (because eventually, it got weighed down). I’ll test it again to see if I just applied too much, because whenever I see Maan’s lashes now, they’re always so perfectly curled. 😂 Also, even though it’s long-lasting, it’s still easy to remove with a good oil-based makeup remover like Biore. 👍🏻 @lorealmakeup’s Lash Paradise Mascara is now available for only Php 500 at @calyxtabeauty! 💜✨ #GretasJunkyard #makeupreview
