A while back, I wrote about the Story of Cupcake and His Queen—and how my best friend and I went from teammates, to friends, to best friends, to co-captains, to what we are now.
It’s really funny whenever I think about it. After all those years of teasing, bullying, and making fun of each other on and off the field—to suddenly going on prim and proper tea breaks, cultured nights, and romantic dinner dates.
Back when we both worked in Makati, we used to have tea time in Chocolate Fire during our afternoon breaks—and we’d talk endlessly about anything and everything.
Wine nights and cultured nights are usually reserved for Fridays after getting off from work. We’d share a cheese platter and some red wine to unwind from the stressful week.
Occasionally, he’d surprise me with roses in the morning to remind me of how beautiful life is and to put a smile on my face.
No matter where we are or what we do, I always love spending time with my Cupcake.
