I Do Nails Nail Salon at Eastwood Mall Celebrates with Greta’s Junkyard
When it comes to nail art and trends, one nail salon in the Metro that’s always ahead of everyone else is I Do Nails—located on the 3rd floor of Eastwood Mall, on the same side as Me & U and Lock & Lock, right across Gymboree.
What started out as a home service a few years ago now has its own lovely store, which opened mid last year.
With walls comprised of light colors (mostly lilac!), large frames boasting nail and hand photography, and matte gold leather seats with teal cushions for guests to comfortably lounge in while having their nails done, the place welcomes you with such a positive and charming ambiance.
That’s exactly how I felt when I met the very bubbly owner, Monica Maceda, who agreed to answer a few of my questions when it came to I Do Nails, nail art, and nail trends.
With Monica Maceda of I Do Nails Eastwood
1. What’s hot in the nail business these days?
Gel polishes are still in, since they are more resilient than regular polishes. Glitter nails are also still in, probably because of the Christmas season drawing near.
2. What else are other nail trends now?
Nail art stamping is a huge trend, as well as neon colors under UV lights. There’s also a demand in velvet, caviar, and glitter.
3. What’s your favorite nail polish color and brand?
Cleopatra in New York by Deborah Lippmann and Frenzy by Chanel
4. How often do you get male customers?
Often! Maybe two to three customers in a day? A lot of them like to experiment and get foot spas, since they’re sporty and want to get rid of the callouses. Some also get paraffin. There are even some who get their eyebrows threaded!
I Do Nails recently launched their Christmas Promos, which is super perfect for the season.
During my visit, I was able to get an Orly Spa treat—which consisted of a manicure, a special foot spa, and a pedicure.
I also had nail art done on gel polish (which lasts way longer than regular polishes). Check out the design of my nail stamps! (Of course, it really had to follow the Junkyard’s colors.)
While for my feet, I chose a simpler look.
(Don’t mind my ugly toe nail. I got stepped on during an ultimate game months ago, and I’ve been trying to grow it out ever since. I just cover it up with pretty nail polishes.)
As mentioned, I Do Nails offers regular, gel, and premium polishes by OPI, Orly, Zoya (which is soon-to-be-mommy-friendly), Cuccio, Deborah Lippmann, and Chanel.
They also do quickie manicures and pedicures for those who are in a rush but want to prettify their nails.
If you want to book a spa party with your girlfriends (or boyfriends), you can have the place reserved. It seats a maximum of eight.
I really enjoyed my pampering session with I Do Nails—especially because it was my first time to try using gel polish and nail stamps. I’m usually a French manicure kind of girl, but with the wide range of polishes and designs they have to offer, I’m already looking forward to going back and having my nails done in a different design!
