How to Use the Pasahero App
With the number of incidents we’ve been hearing about the new modus operandi of taxi drivers, thieves, etc., ABS-CBN recently launched the Pasahero app—a very useful app that takes down the details of the cab, bus, or jeep that you’re in and tracks you in your journey. If something suspicious happens or you think you’re in trouble, you can simply press the panic button and your emergency contacts will immediately be informed via SMS the details of the transportation you are riding and your location.
To use the Pasahero app, it’s really simple. Once you’ve downloaded it, you need to register via Facebook, Twitter or your e-mail.
I registered using Twitter.
Once you’re registered, you’ll instantly be tracked. Press the button to the upper left and add your emergency contacts.
When you click next, you’ll be asked to input the details of your ride such as the transportation type, the plate number, name and photo of the driver (if possible), and other significant markers around you.
There are also safety tips.
Having the app makes me feel so much more secure now, especially because since I started working, I tend to ride cabs in the middle of the day to go to meetings with clients. At least in the event that something goes wrong (I hope and pray that never happens), I can easily press the panic button.
