How to Prevent Stretch Marks During Pregnancy: My Body Care Routine
When I found out I was pregnant, I immediately started looking for the best stretch mark cream. Being a beauty enthusiast, I wanted to take good care of the skin around my belly and thighs. So I began applying Palmers Massage Lotion for Stretch Marks as early as Week 5! But then I read on a mommy Facebook group called Glam-O-Mamas that the best one most have tried is Mustela’s Stretch Marks Prevention Cream. A few mommy friends messaged me as well that they swore by it. One even shared with me her full body care routine when she was pregnant, which involved using baby oil. So with all the suggestions and recommendations, I came up with my own routine on how to prevent stretch marks during pregnancy!
Of course, I can’t know for sure if this is going to be effective since I’m just 18 weeks pregnant. It will also largely depend on my genes. But I really hope this works! If not, at least I still practiced self-care during this time. I linked each product to Lazada in case you’re interested to buy any of them. How to Prevent Stretch Marks During Pregnancy: Day Time Routine
After taking a bath in the morning and doing my skincare routine, I generously apply Mustela’s Stretch Marks Prevention Cream (P1,480) all over my belly, breasts, butt, and thighs. Compared to Palmers, I like the thinner consistency of this. It gets absorbed a lot faster and doesn’t leave a sticky feeling. I’m just not a fan of the bottle because when you’re clumsy like me, you might squeeze out more than what’s necessary. So I make sure to control each squeeze every time I use it!
For the rest of my body, I use Cetaphil’s Moisturizing Lotion (P999). The brand recently gave this to me along with other products for sensitive skin. So far, I’m really happy with this! I plan to use the same brand on #FraggyBaby when he or she is born.
How to Prevent Stretch Marks During Pregnancy: Evening Routine
At night, my body routine is a little bit different. After my shower and evening skincare routine, I apply Johnson’s Baby Oil with Aloe Vera (P249) liberally all over my belly, butt, and thighs. I then seal it in with Palmers Massage Lotion for Stretch Marks (P625) since the consistency is thicker. Compared to Mustela, I prefer the scent of this!
Once a Week Routine
Once a week (usually on Sundays or Mondays), I exfoliate the skin on my belly and thighs with Abonne Milk Salt Spa (P390). It’s the same one I use to help smoothen and brighten my underarms.
And that’s my current body care routine to help prevent stretch marks during pregnancy! If you have any questions, leave them in the comment section below.
