Found My True Match with L’Oreal’s True Match Foundation
I’m a huge beauty junkie and I love to experiment with makeup, but when it comes to foundation, I have to admit that I’m a little iffy wearing it. This is because I have super sensitive skin, and in the past I’ve found myself breaking out or reacting negatively to certain foundations—which then leads to numerous trips to the derma. Aside from having sensitive skin, I hate the heavy feeling whenever I wear foundation and I think a lot of women will agree that it can be a challenge finding the exact shade as your skin tone.
Fortunately, L’Oreal Paris came out with a new formula for their True Match foundation and addressed all of these concerns. It’s no surprise that their foundation was hailed as the No. 1 foundation in the world!
After using their foundation a few times, I noticed that my skin hasn’t reacted to it yet—which is a really good sign. In fact, I’m a heavy user of L’Oreal’s Mat Magique Powder (I use this alone on a regular day, and also to set my foundation whenever I feel like wearing makeup) and what I noticed is that it doesn’t make my skin break out.
Their new formula also feels super light on the skin, that it’ll make you think like you’re not wearing anything! It provides a really good coverage without the heavy feeling. But to achieve a flawless look, I urge you to take care of your skin before anything else so that when you use L’Oreal’s True Match Foundation, your skin will look like porcelain. Remember: good makeup starts with good skin.
In terms of shade range, L’Oreal’s True Match Foundation offers 15. So if you’re an athlete who’s exposed to the sun a lot, you don’t have to worry about not finding a shade because you can buy 2 or 3 different shades that will match your current skin tone. I used to do this whenever I got burnt from playing Ultimate all day—I’d have 3 shades of foundation in my makeup stash. One that I can use when I’m super sunog, one shade when my tan is starting to fade, and one that matches my real skin tone.
To celebrate being named as the No. 1 foundation in the world, L’Oreal threw an exciting event last week where we got to experience a few more of their new products—all of which complement each other in creating a “no makeup” makeup look. The launch was held at Farmacy in Bonifacio Global City, and in true L’Oreal Paris style, the brand got the Black Fleet bus to be one of their stations. There were four stations that highlighted a specific product, and a fifth station that came as a surprise.
Station 1: Blur Cream (Php 400)
This works as a primer and helps blur large pores and fine lines. It also allows makeup to last longer. It has a smooth, velvety finish that makes it easier to achieve flawless-looking skin.
Station 2: True Match Foundation (Php 600)
Highlighted inside the Black Fleet bus was L’Oreal’s True Match Foundation, where we were given quick makeovers care of Verna Marin, L’Oreal’s chief makeup artist. This was also where I discovered my True Match shade—G2 Gold Porcelain.
Station 3: True Match Crayon Concealer (Php 500)
I love this concealer! The texture is soft and blends easily into your skin without caking. I’ve started using it to hide my eye bags, but it also works to cover pimples and other blemishes.
Station 4: Brow Artist Collection
There were two kinds of eyebrow products in this station. The first is the Brow Artist Genius Kit (Php 400), which contains a wax that primes brow hair and allows the product to last longer, and a brow powder to fill them in. But my favorite of the two is the Brow Artist Designer Pro (Php 500), a 3-in-1 pencil that lets you shape, shade, and style your brows with ease. It comes with a crayon pencil that makes it really convenient to outline your brows, a brow powder for filling the brows in, and a spoolie brush that you can use to blend everything together. I’ve been using it everyday since I got it!
Station 5: The Surprise Station
So after every station, we were asked to pick a key and keep them in the key chain provided. We were told that there was a surprise station waiting for us at the end. It turns out that there were two guys wearing padlocks around their necks in the last station—and our objective was to use the keys we picked out to unlock the padlocks! Neither of my keys unlocked the first guy’s padlock, but when I moved on to the next guy, my last key unlocked his! I was sooo lucky. He even told me there were only two winning keys out of hundreds of keys! As my prize, I got free movie tickets!
So anyway, I’m really glad I found my true match with L’Oreal’s True Match Foundation. I love its new, sleek packaging but most importantly, I love how it helps me achieve a flawless look and doesn’t make my skin react.
By the way, I’m cooking up something really exciting with L’Oreal’s True Match Foundation, so be sure to keep checking the blog!
