Five Affordable Alternatives to Urban Decay’s Naked Collection
If you’re a practical makeup person who only uses her makeup once in a while, buying expensive makeup can be really heavy for both the heart and wallet knowing that you’ll only be using it for certain occasions. But this doesn’t mean that you should limit yourself to buying cheap brands that will only disappoint you in the end. It’s very important to invest in good and quality makeup—just be sure to keep an open mind, and that you don’t always get blinded by the big, expensive brands out there.
While most of these brands really do promise superior quality, know that there are so many niche or unknown brands that can guarantee the same thing for a much friendlier price. You just have to know where to find them.

Here below are just some of my recommendations. Aside from quality and price, I also took into consideration where you can find them.
5. Canmake Tokyo’s Perfect Stylist Eyes in Baby Beige (Php 620)
This comes in four neutral shades that you can easily mix and match, depending on the look you’re going for. It’s available online at the Glamourbox Boutique, which you can easily have delivered to your doorstep. Buying from Glamourbox can also give you Glamourpoints so the next time you shop, you can get exclusive discounts and perks—all you need to do is sign up and be a member.
4. Pixi’s Mesmerizing Mineral Palette in Copper Peach (Php 620)
I’m really loving Pixi, most especially because of their philosophy—to simply bring out the natural beauty in all women. It’s really evident in their products, including this one, which gives you six color options. It’s something you can use in the morning before going to work, to brighten up those eyes. Again, you can avail this product from the Glamourbox Boutique.
3. The Face Shop’s Face It Artist Touch in Golden Brown
One thing that’s great about The Face Shop is that their makeup is really made for Asian skin. I’ve been using some of their eye shadows, blushes, and even their makeup remover for a couple of years now, and I really like the turnout. The Face Shop has branches in most malls nationwide.
2. Beauty UK Posh Palette in Eden or Masquerade (Php 450)
I really love the colors of these, and they’re currently on sale at the online shop of Carmen Claire Cosmetics! Get each set for only Php 395.
1. BYS 5-Piece Horizontal Eye Shadow in Natural Delight or Olive Daze (Php 299)
Natural Delight
Olive Daze
The Natural Delight has been a staple in my bag lately. I love the slight glittery touch to it, and I have so much fun blending the shades together to form whatever look I desire. Most of the time, I use the darkest shade on the lowest part of my lids, then use the lighter shades as I go along. Natural Delight is also the brand’s best-selling item. BYS has stalls inside Watson’s, and most SM Department Stores nationwide.

Hi, CL! Welcome to the world of cosmetics! Hehe. 🙂 Since you’re new, I would recommend that you start with the basics: eyebrows, lashes, and lips.
For eyebrows, I’m a huge fan of Etude House’s Color My Brows (they come in a variety of colors). These are so easy to apply, especially if you’re not used to filling in your eyebrows yet, and they retail for around Php 360. For your lashes, get Maybelline’s The Falsies or Hypercurl mascara, which both retail at Php 199. And for lips, Ofra Cosmetics sells high-quality lipsticks (that already contain Vitamin E and sunscreen) for just Php 500.

Hi there!
I was thinking of getting Urban Decay Naked palette but I find it (way, way) expensive. Then I saw the BYS Nude (if I’m not mistaken) palette which shades are similar to those of the Naked palette. Question is, do you think the BYS Nude (?) palette would be good enough?? Or do you have any other suggestions since it has been more than a year since you posted this? Thanks!

Hey! To be honest, I love the shades but in terms of pigmentation, I expected more. If you’re after the pigmentation, I highly recommend Pixi’s Mesmerizing Mineral Palettes. It’s available in four shades, and they’re only Php 620 per palette. 🙂
