Eye of Horus Philippines and Glamourbox Give Back
It’s always nice to meet and catch up with the Glamourbox team. We go way back since 2012 when Glamourbox first started as a beauty subscription service and online boutique. I worked for them as a freelance writer and contributed to their beauty blog—writing product reviews, press releases, and tutorial articles. Last year, they entered the retail scene and placed their top-selling brands in outlets like Pure Beauty and Common Thread. Just last month, they finally opened two Glamourbox stores—one in Fairview Terraces and one in Landmark, Trinoma.
It’s been such an amazing journey, and I’m so glad to have witnessed it all! I can’t help but be proud of them, for all the hard work that they’ve done.
Speaking of their best-selling brands, one of them is Eye of Horus Cosmetics, which originates from Australia. Eye of Horus is a range of eye makeup that awakens the goddess within. I regularly use their mascara, because it’s perfect for daily wear. It’s not heavy, the formula and ingredients don’t make it clump, and it’s ideal for women with sensitive eyes. Since I wear contact lenses (I have really bad eyesight), it doesn’t irritate them after a long day at work.
This afternoon, I had the pleasure of joining the Glamourbox team, a few beauty bloggers, and Amy Lennane herself (one of the co-founders of Eye of Horus who flew in from Australia), in an intimate tea party at Lusso in Greenbelt 5.
Amy introduced their new line of products to be launched next year (you guys will absolutely love them, I swear! I’m so excited for it already!), and the Metallic Icons, which will be available this week on Glamourbox’s online store. One sheet will be sold at Php 450.
Aside from the products, Amy talked about how Eye of Horus has tied up with It Ain’t Nothing, a non-profit Australian-based organization with a mission of building 50 homes in Yolanda-affected Malapascua Island, where many Filipinos are still living in makeshift shelters. The goal of It Ain’t Nothing is to raise $50,000 to provide homes for 50 families. As of October 2014, 28 homes have already been built—but it’s still a long way to go.
This is why Glamourbox and its exclusive brand, Eye of Horus, took part in this fund-raising effort. Both believe that beauty is as beauty does, and would like to give back. On November 7 and 8, both brands will be selling Eye of Horus gift packs on their websites simultaneously, with 100% of the proceeds going towards building homes to support It Ain’t Nothing’s cause.
The gift pack is valued at Php 3,500 but will be sold at Php 2,000. So don’t forget to log on to www.glamourbox.ph on November 7 and 8 to support this cause at the same time add new and exciting products to your makeup kit!
