Custom Furniture Philippines: My Tried and Tested Suppliers
When we moved into our forever home, one of the first things we had to invest in was quality furniture. Since we lived in a fully-furnished studio unit in Makati during the first year of our marriage while waiting for our forever home to finish construction, we didn’t buy furniture right away. But through research and the recommendations of my architect sister and members on Home Buddies, I found suppliers who could make custom furniture in the Philippines! Check out The Old Wood PH and Wanderwood Furniture.
Custom Furniture in the Philippines
If you check out the hashtag #FraggyHome on Instagram, you’ll find that our house’s theme is mostly white and wood. It has a modern rustic feel with a touch of Filipino thanks to the narra and molave pieces we inherited from my in-laws. You can see more of our home when you visit my articles on deep home cleaning, how to sleep instantly, and taking care of our indoor plants.
The Old Wood PH
My husband and I agreed that when it came to our bed, it had to be premium quality. And that’s where The Old Wood PH came in! We discovered them through my sister who sent their Instagram profile. They make hand-made furniture from their Pasig-based workshop using high-quality, sustainable materials and craftsmanship.
I reached out to them on Instagram last July 2020 to inquire about their JUAT Queen-Sized Bed (P56,000). It’s a simple design with clean lines and four drawers underneath for extra storage space. I was immediately attracted to the minimalist look and the fact that it had so much storage. You can never go wrong with extra storage!
The Old Wood PH used tanguile for our bed. It’s one of the seven local kinds of wood often referred to as Philippine Mahogany. We chose a walnut finish to complement the white walls and wood-look tiles of our bedroom. We also requested to adjust the height of the headboard since it would be placed against a wall with a window.
I communicated with them purely through Instagram. We eventually shifted to e-mail when I placed our order and sent our down payment last September 2020. Their lead time is about 12 to 14 weeks. But because of the community quarantine, which caused delays in our house’s construction, we asked them to deliver our bed around February 2021 instead. Right before delivery, they sent photos of the finished product for quality assurance.
The Old Wood PH delivered the bed to our house and assembled it in our bedroom. They wrapped it in plastic to prevent dust from entering since construction was still ongoing. We’re extremely happy with their service and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a premium furniture supplier.
Wanderwood Furniture
I discovered Wanderwood Furniture on Home Buddies when I asked for recommendations for a custom furniture supplier. I wanted a more affordable supplier for smaller pieces like our side tables and console table. Unlike The Old Wood PH’s JUAT bed, which is already an existing design in their portfolio, I had to send design pegs to Wanderwood. I enjoyed the process so much! I turned to Pinterest for inspiration and sent photos together with measurements.
The side tables were P4,750 each while the console table was P8,500. They used marine plywood for the materials and I requested to make it a walnut finish as close to our JUAT bed as possible. We communicated purely through Instagram where they constantly sent photo updates, which I appreciated! Their lead time was about 2 and a half weeks. The owners themselves personally delivered our orders.

Recently, I ordered another side table from Wanderwood for our living room. For the design, I wanted a narrow overhang type so that I’d have somewhere to place my water, tea, or snacks while watching TV. They used narra wood in a walnut finish and solid steel. For this one, their quotation was P3,500. Take a look at the quality finish!
