My name is Gretchen Gatan, and I’m a Beauty and Lifestyle Storyteller, Managing Director for a content marketing agency, Editor-in-Chief for an online beauty magazine and shop, and Makeup Artist from Metro Manila, Philippines.

Story time! 💜 While adjusting to a new life aft Story time! 💜 While adjusting to a new life after getting married, I think I sort of lost my sense of style. I didn’t feel very motivated to dress up, and every day, I woke up wearing the first thing I grabbed from my closet thinking, “Is this easy to wash and dry? Do I still need to iron it?” Apart from thinking of these chores, it didn’t help that I lived right next to where I worked—so I often felt that “dressing up” for the office was no longer necessary. . And then one day, I started getting the hang of doing the laundry. I stuck to my usual schedule of Mondays and Thursdays (while Wednesdays were our vacuum and mop day—the Cupcake would vacuum, and I would mop). Chores, although exhausting, no longer seemed so bad when you have a husband more than willing to help out. It was also around the same time that local and affordable (yet quality!) brands like @feral.ph and @olivia.mnl got in touch and sent over clothes and shoes that sparked my love for dressing up again! . Like before, I started planning my outfits once more—every evening, I’d pick out an #OOTD for the following day. And just the simple act of dressing up built my confidence and gave me motivation again—motivation to get up earlier, head to the office with a positive mindset, finish all my deliverables for the day, and still have the energy to cook, do chores, and work out in the evening. . I created an IG Highlight to document my outfits, too! And I just wanted this post to remind myself (and anyone experiencing the same thing) that sometimes, we become a little vulnerable while in the process of adjusting. And that’s okay. It’s especially in these times that we need to be more understanding of ourselves. In my case, I didn’t pressure myself to update the blog nor edit videos if I was too drained. I didn’t beat myself up whenever the things I cooked sucked, or I didn’t clean our condo as well as I did the previous week. And I know I’m not the best in terms of doing household stuff, but everyday I’m learning. . So yeah. Just wanted to share all of that, to hopefully spread some good vibes (and because I used up all the characters of IG’s caption limit again 😂). 😊💜 #GretasJunkyard

Can you tell that these pants are my favorite? 😂 They’re a hand-me-down from my Ninang, who got them in Bangkok (if I’m not mistaken). They’re suuuuper duper comfy, and they go well with all my equally comfy tops from @uniqlophofficial. Haha! . Been pairing them with the Sandy from @olivia.mnl a lot lately. Makes the look extra laidback yet still “going-out-of-the-condo-appropriate.” Haha! 😂
