Best Halloween 2013 Costumes Spotted in Ayala Heights
Meet Pugsley and Wednesday Addams
So just tonight, October 31, my siblings, cousins and I went trick or treating with the Cupcake and his brother in Ayala Heights, Quezon City. The trick or treating started at 6pm, which was something we weren’t accustomed to because we grew up trick or treating in the afternoon. It was new to us to be trick or treating at night, but because it was dark it also made it very exciting.

The last time I went trick or treating in Ayala Heights was with my barkada during our grade school days. I don’t remember much, except that many of the houses served dirty ice cream.
This year, nearly every house was decorated in cool props—like this one house which even had a manananggal. There was also a house that had DIY coffins and a graveyard. A lot of the houses still served dirty ice cream as well, with some giving away fish balls or cotton candy.
I brought my camera to take lots of pictures, especially of the best Halloween costumes I encountered.
It was jam-packed with kids and adults alike dressed so creatively. And so below are photos of the best Halloween 2013 costumes we spotted in Ayala Heights.
1. Patrick Starfish
I would have to commend my very artistic sister for creating this whole ensemble by herself. (The pink tights, she borrowed from my closet though.) But the hat down to the shorts were all made by her.
2. Game Die
This guy who dressed as a die. Simple, but super funny and creative.
3. James P. Sullivan
This baby was too adorable. And it was such a coincidence seeing him right after we saw a house decorated as Monsters University.
4. Creepy Unicorn Guy
He may be creepy, but people kept asking to take pictures with him.
5. Lara Croft
This was a pretty cool costume.
6. Another Wednesday Addams
Because I’m biased and I spotted another Wednesday Addams walking around.
7. Katniss Everdeen
I got really excited when I saw her costume. She even volunteered to put on her jacket to look more “Katniss.”
8. Chewbacca
Imagine how hot it must be in that!
9. Enchanted Kingdom
Can’t get any more hilarious than this. (That’s my brother, by the way.)
10. The Addams Family
Best costumes of the night! The complete Addams Family! They were nice enough to really stop and pose together when I asked to take a picture.
Halloween really is one of my favorite days of the year, simply because everyone can dress up in cool/weird/adorable outfits and get away with it. The candy, of course, is always something to look forward to as well. I think I’m going to start making this my thing every year—spotting the best Halloween costumes in different places.
