Cambria’s Baptism: Our Event Stylist, Caterer, and Other Suppliers
Recently, we had our baby girl baptized in our village church, Sta. Rita de Cascia Parish—the same church where my husband and I got married! It was an intimate event with our families and closest friends. It was also our first time seeing some of them since the pandemic started. After the ceremony, we had a small reception in our house—also known as the #FraggyHome. I love how everything turned out—from the food, to the styling, to the photos. It was definitely one of my Pinterest boards that came to life—all thanks to our awesome suppliers. So, just in case you’re looking to have your baby baptized as well, below is a list of our highly recommended caterer, event stylist, photographer, and more.

Caterer and Event Stylist
First is our caterer and event stylist, 128 Catering. They have reasonably-priced packages that already include simple event styling. My brother and sister-in-law also hired them during their intimate wedding in my grandmother’s house last May 2021. I love their food and their service. They have very attentive and friendly staff who took good care of us and our guests.

The buffet package we got was around P700 per head. Our menu included wild mushroom truffle soup, classic caesar salad, and Aglio olio pasta. For the main dishes, we chose baked fish marinara with mozzarella, baked chicken in lemon butter sauce, and pot roast beef with bordelaise sauce. Lastly, for our desserts, which KO Patissier prepared (he’s one of the owners of 128 Catering), we went with creme brulee and tiramisu. They gave us free French macarons as well! Moreover, all their packages come with free-flowing water and iced tea. For the backdrop, we paid them an additional P3,500, which was so worth it. It added a beautiful background to all our photos.

Cake and Lechon Belly
To add to the food, we ordered my family’s favorite lechon belly from SALO. The same one was served during Booboo’s 11th birthday celebration. Then for the cake, my cousin (who heads the marketing of Something Different Bakeshop) made a beautiful buttercream cake that fit the theme.
Baptismal Gown and Reception Dress
Back when I was still seven months pregnant with Cambria, both Beyond White Baby and Piccoli offered to dress her for her baptism. Beyond White Baby made the most breathtaking 2-in-1 piña silk gown with a detachable skirt and accessories. These included a bonnet, ribbon headband, and a pair of booties. Cambria wore them during the ceremony.

On the other hand, Piccoli sent the Hannah, a timeless 5-layered full shirred sleeveless dress with cotton lace trimming. It felt so soft and comfortable to wear—perfect for an afternoon reception in our home. We paired it with the same lace shoes that I wore to my own baptism, which my mom kept and maintained really well.

Event Photographer
Because this was a special occasion that gathered our families, I wanted photos that Cambria would be able to look back on when she’s older. So we hired ZM Photography, the same photographer from our cozy maternity shoot!
Custom Candles to Complement the Event Styling
For the candles used during the ceremony, I asked my sister-in-law for her supplier since Kara, her daughter and Cambria’s cousin, got baptized a month earlier. I ordered a set from Paper Crafts and Prints by Ava through their official store on Shopee.

Giveaways for Cambria’s Godparents
A while back, I wrote an article on baptism giveaway ideas for Ninongs and Ninangs. I thought really hard about what we would give Cambria’s godparents. Since we named her after our favorite band, Coheed and Cambria, and my favorite font to use in writing short stories, the gifts had to be just as meaningful.

So I ordered the Jotter Originals Ballpoint Pen from Parker and had them engraved with her godparents’ names. Just a side story—when I was a little girl, I always knew I wanted to become a writer. During one career talk in my high school, Poveda, columnist and editorial writer Conrado de Quiros shared that his favorite pen to use was a Parker. And since then, I told myself that if I became a writer someday, I’d use a Parker as well. When I graduated in Creative Writing from Ateneo de Manila, my parents gave me a Parker engraved with my name. To this day, that remains to be one of my core memories.
Anyway, we added a card to each gift that Colorphics printed. Each card said, “I can’t wait to write the story of my life with you guiding me every step of the way.”
