A Review on POP Beauty’s Bright Up Your Life in Naturally Bare
When I first saw POP Beauty’s Bright Up Your Life in Naturally Bare lying around in our office last month, I was instantly attracted to the palette. The colors are exactly the kind I would wear any day, and so with permission from my boss, I brought it home to swatch and test it. The colors are so pretty, don’t you think?
The hues are very friendly—meaning they suit all types of skin tones. The colors on the left side (or on top, depending on the angle) are ideal for daytime wear, while the ones on the right (or the bottom) can be used to create more intense looks that’s great for evening wear. My sister tested it on herself and my cousin, who had a party to attend one weekend. While I’m more on the fairer side, my sister is slightly tanner, and my cousin is a golden brown, the palette complemented our features easily.
If you’re new to makeup, I think this palette is convenient to use for practicing. Since it’s not pigmented, the colors don’t appear as strong on the first application. Instead, it’s very light—which makes it easy to play around with and blend. My favorite hues are 2 and 9, because I can just dab them without effort on my lids and I’m good to go!
Another way I would blend the colors together is to use 6 on the lowest part of my lids (kind of like an eyeliner), then use 8 and 7 on the middle. 4 and 5 could be used to highlight your brow bone and waterline, to really bring out those eyes.
Though the palette is a little pricey at Php 1,240 (or at least I could get the same shades at the same price from more well-known brands) and I’m not a big fan of the packaging, I think it’s a good investment because you’re already given 10 colors to work with, and the quality of the makeup is great.
