A Review on Pixi’s Natural Contour Powder
I’ve been wanting to write a review on Pixi’s Natural Contour Powder since I got one last October during the Pixi Wake Up and Glow event. It’s part of the 2015 Fall collection, and the reason I wanted to review it is because it’s the one product that got me contouring my face more often.
When it comes to doing my own makeup, I’m the brows-lashes-and-lips kind of gal. I tend to skip primers, foundations, and powders because I’m not a big fan of heavy makeup (I know there are a lot of lightweight products out there, like Pixi’s H20 Skintint, but whenever I wear anything on my whole face, it automatically feels heavier just because I know I’m wearing something apart from my usual brow powder/pencil, mascara, and lipstick). Apart from not being a fan of heavy makeup, I’m also really paranoid about my skin. I invest a lot in my skincare, and I don’t want anything to cause it to break out—like the wrong primer, foundation, or powder. The funniest reason of all is that I’m super lazy to contour—I’m no contour connoisseur and thinking about how long it will take me to put on makes me want to skip the whole thing completely.
But all that changed when I was introduced to Pixi’s Natural Contour Powder! In my opinion, it’s one shade that fits all. The brown shade has a matte finish and is universally flattering, making it really easy to sculpt features. I like using it to define my cheekbones, and contour my forehead and jawline.
I’ve been using it frequently, and so far, my skin hasn’t reacted negatively to it. And I’m not surprised! Staying true to the brand’s philosophy, Pixi’s Natural Contour Powder contains skin-loving ingredients like peptides (to plump fine lines), coffee extract (to stimulate circulation), and aloe vera (to soothe and heal).
The pigmentation is enough that one swipe gives you ample color, and you can easily build it up with every application.
I really, really like this product and I highly recommend it to those with sensitive and/or oily skin, and who are beginners at contouring. Since it’s powder and has a matte finish, it really goes well with oily skin—plus powders are the easiest to deal with out of all types (I think cream is the most intimidating). It’s Php 995 and is available in SM Mall of Asia and Makati Department Stores, Glamourbox Landmark Makati, Glamourbox Landmark Trinoma, Glamourbox Wellworth UP Town Center, Purebeauty Serendra, Purebeauty Glorietta 4, Purebeauty Trinoma, Common Thread Greenbelt 5, Common Thread Power Plant, www.glamourbox.ph, www.seektheuniq.com, www.calyxta.com, and www.beautymnl.com.
