A Review on Maybelline’s The Nudes Palette
I’m a sucker for nude and neutral eye shadow palettes. In fact, I think I have about 6 or 7 of them in my makeup train case, yet I only use 4. One of them includes Maybelline’s The Nudes Palette, which comes in a sleek black packaging that caught my eye right away. I first saw it during the Maybelline x Greta’s Junkyard Dream Academy Workshop, and it was love at first sight.
The palette comes in 12 beautiful shades with a mix of mattes and metallics. My favorite shade would have to be the matte brown shade in the upper right corner (top, right-most). Another shade I really like is the light brown one (also matte) on the lower row, second to the left. It even comes with a guide on which colors to mix and match to create a certain look.
I’m not really a fan of the sponge brush that comes with the palette (it’s hard to use for blending), so I always use my own makeup brushes.
In terms of pigmentation, they’re not as pigmented as I hoped for it to be—but the good thing about it is that if you’re a beginner, it makes it easier to build up the color and blend. Still, I think the shades are all gorgeous and for Php 675, it’s a palette worth having. I’ve used it a few times already, and so far, the staying power is good plus it doesn’t crease.
Here are swatches of the different shades. They’re all so pretty, I swear!
What do you guys think? For those looking for a nude eye shadow palette that won’t hurt their wallet, I definitely recommend Maybelline’s The Nudes.

Oh, I haven’t gotten around to trying it yet. 🙂 For eye primer, I actually don’t know of any brands that offer eye primers below Php 500! 🙁 The only one I use right now is Urban Decay, or I use my Benefit Porefessional as my eye primer when I’m in a hurry. 🙂

Oh, that’s too costly! Im just checking you blog on a lazy Saturday night in my pj’s haha! I wonder, have you blogged about MaxFactor’s face primer? Maybe I wasnt thoroughly checking, hhaha. Curious if that will work as eye primer too for eyeshadows.. or no need for primer just go ahead and directly apply setting spray? what do you suggest, spraying on to the brush before application or just apply eyemakeup and spray afterwards?

Oh, I haven’t reviewed that yet. 🙂 I think it can rin naman! Primers make your makeup last longer, and it brings out the colors better. And better to apply makeup and spray afterwards. 🙂
