I first encountered Sunshine Kitchen when I went on a dinner date with KChan in Trio, both located on the second floor of Fort Pointe 1 Building, The Fort Strip, Bonifacio Global City. It seemed quiet and a little isolated, yet their typography really attracted me. Without really thinking about where we wanted to eat for dinner the other night, except that I was really craving for soup, the Cupcake and I encountered their sign in The Fort Strip again.
As soon as we entered the dimly-lit restaurant decked with sunflowers, wooden chairs, and dark tables, we were greeted by the stillness of its surroundings coupled with 70’s music.
I ordered their Soup of the Day, which happened to be Chicken Pot Pie Soup. Then the Cupcake and I shared Two-Mushroom Ravioli with Seared Prawns in Cream-Based Sauce.
I really liked the presentation of the soup. To eat it, I had to break the crust and mix it in, which gave the soup a thicker consistence. Flavor wise, it was adequate (and a bit salty for my taste). One bowl will instantly make you feel full.
I was more excited about the ravioli since I love ravioli. The sauce was good, but I had a hard time tasting the mushrooms because it was overpowered by the seared prawns. The firmness of the ravioli was perfect though.
I really wanted to try their Salted Caramel Cheesecake for dessert, which I heard was their best-seller, but I was too full to accommodate any more food.
Though the restaurant is a little pricey, perhaps I should go back to try their best-selling dishes and their Wine All You Can. And I really need to get my hands on their Salted Caramel Cheesecake.
