A Lippy Review of Burt’s Bees Philippines
A couple of weeks ago, I was looking through my news feed and saw that Burt’s Bees Philippines recently started a campaign called #NaturalSaturdays, where girls are encouraged to upload natural-looking photos of themselves on Instagram and hashtag it with #NaturalSaturdays. Thinking that I had nothing to lose, I uploaded a recent photo of myself sans makeup. Little did I know that two days later, my photo would be reposted on the Burt’s Bees Philippines Instagram account, announcing that I was the winner of the first leg!
I was so ecstatic! Especially because that day they announced I was the winner, I wasn’t feeling so well. (I’ve been suffering from asthma attacks and I haven’t been allowed to play disc.)
Burt’s Bees immediately contacted me so that I could pick up my loot. They even invited me to have lunch at Slice in Bonifacio High Street Central last Friday, October 18, where I met Chris Cahilig, Yna Enaje, and an acquaintance from college (super small world!), Kara Santiago.
So what was in the basket of goodies? Let me give you a quick peek!
So first in the box is Burt’s Bees Sensitive Eye Cream with Cotton Extract (Php 1,450). I’m really excited to add this to my daily skin regimen, which you can read here. I’m sure it’ll serve as an excellent alternative for O2CH Eye and Lip Treatment. Wait for my review about it!
Up next is Burt’s Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream (Php 750), which smells divine. My mom is a huge fan of this, too. She even has her own stash in her mani-pedi kit.
Burt’s Bees Sensitive Facial Cleansing Towelettes (Php 495) is perfect, especially for my skin type. These can serve as an instant makeup remover on days I decide to wear makeup.
I’m really excited to try this Radiance set. I’ve been reading a lot of great reviews about it, so I’ll be sure to write my own soon. (Right now, I’m using the Anew Vitale line by Avon, which you can read about here.)
The box also contained a number of lippies—Tinted Lip Balm in Red Dahlia (Php 650), Lip Gloss in Spring Splendor (Php 700), Lip Shimmer in Rhubarb (Php 395), and Lip Shine in Pucker (Php 595).
Over the weekend, even though I was instructed by my doctor to bed rest since I’ve been suffering from asthma and fever, nothing could stop me from trying out these lippies! I was able to compare the Lip Shimmer in Rhubarb, Lip Shine in Pucker, and Lip Gloss in Spring Splendor.
Disclaimer: I have a bad habit of peeling my lips, so the pictures below might show little wounds despite covering them up. Hihi.
So the top picture shows the Lip Shimmer. It’s very similar to a lip balm, but with a hint of color. It also adds a little glimmer. The middle photo is the Lip Shine, which really just gives the lips a natural shine. The last is the Lip Gloss, which has a light color and goes really well with my complexion.
Another disclaimer: I look really sabog because I’m still on bed rest. But I didn’t want to wait until I got better to write this review. Hihi.
I really feel lucky and grateful for this box of Burt’s Bees goodies. So if you guys want a chance to win your own, simply upload your photo and tag #NaturalSaturdays and @BurtsBeesPH on Instagram.
