Jorge Borges once published a book called “History of Eternity,” and in one year only 37 people bought it.
Last week, I learned that for every title Bob Ong publishes, a minimum of 20,00 people buy it. For the literary world (in the Philippine context), that’s already well-accomplished. But for the publishing world, that’s nothing.
Because for every FHM edition put out, about 60,000 copies are sold (every month). And that’s just the minimum.
Come on, Philippines. Read up on something better! Books are delicious and healthy!
