Hey, everyone! Sorry for being MIA again. If you’ve been following me here and on Instagram, you’ll know that I’ve been quite preoccupied focusing all of my energy and efforts on another website—www.calyxta.com, an online magazine and shop about all things beauty where I’m Managing Editor! I have yet to write a Life Lately update on that (seeing as it’s the closest I’ve gotten to my dream job), but for now, here’s a long overdue review on L’Oreal’s Infallible Pro-Matte Liquid Lipstick!
I received five shades last month, where I even threw a #GretasJunkyardGiveaway and a lucky follower got to win the same five shades. Since then, I’ve been road testing them and while the product name is a little misleading (the product says “Pro-Matte Gloss”), the finish isn’t the flat kind of matte—it’s a little bit in between super matte and satin, but with a creamy and comfortable texture that feels light and doesn’t dry the lips.
Unlike most liquid lipsticks I’ve encountered that smell like cookie or cake batter, this one smells like a sweet and sour candy, which I like! I guess the only thing that it can’t really do is to not transfer on tissue or wine glasses, because it will. But even though it’s not transfer-proof, it stays long enough to not have to retouch even after a few hours.
All five shades are extremely wearable—at first, I thought the two darker shades (Forbidden Kiss and Rouge Envy) seemed really dark in its packaging. But when worn, it’s actually pretty! I guess I’m just not used to wearing dark lipstick shades often. I’m more drawn towards a shade like Nude Allude.
Since I’ve had these lipsticks, I even used it on a client who booked me to do her makeup for her graduation ceremony. I used Statement Nude, because it was the closest shade to the peg she sent.
L’Oreal’s Infallible Pro-Matte Liquid Lipsticks are available for only Php 400. For more information, you can check out their Facebook page here.
