I think it’s pretty evident, especially on my Instagram, that ever since I got back from the States I’ve been working out a little more—and it wasn’t something that I intentionally planned. It sort of just happened because while I was there, I noticed that I was gaining a little weight from all the delicious food I was eating (I developed an obsession with Korean BBQ and Mexican dishes). And I’ve always been the type of person to do something about it, because I hate feeling insecure about my body and I address that by doing cardio and core workouts. At the same time, I love the feeling of a good workout, and I guess when you grow up an athlete, your body really looks for that burn. So in my case, while I was in California, I started running 4 miles every other day.
I really wanted to be able to bring that enthusiasm for working out back here in the Philippines, but I wasn’t sure how. I wanted to maintain the running, but I also wanted to go back to yoga and try other fitness classes.
Which is why it was so timely that GuavaPass introduced themselves, because they make booking fitness classes all over Metro Manila so much easier and more convenient. I just downloaded the app on my phone, signed up, and started booking classes based on my preferred location and what type of workout I was looking for!
Sunday yoga at @igobeyondyoga after a good morning run, and I got to book a vinyasa class easily with @guavapassmnl. For those who don't know, #GuavaPassManila is a monthly membership app that gives you access to the best fitness classes and studios in Metro Manila. I downloaded the app yesterday and booked my first class with #BeyondYoga, and it's super convenient because they've partnered with other fitness studios like @360fitclub, @crossfitmnl, @planaforma, and @elordegym (among many others). You can even filter your search for classes based on location and what type of workout you're looking for! GuavaPass also works around Asia and the Middle East, so if you travel to these places often, you can use your passes here as well! I have several passes left and I'm thinking of where to use them next. #GretasJunkyard #GuavaPass
They’ve partnered with so many studios like Beyond Yoga, Plana Forma, 360 Fitness Club, Crossfit MNL, and Elorde. So no matter where you are, for sure there’s a partner studio that’s conveniently near you. A couple of weeks ago, after going for a run at the UP Academic Oval, I wanted to finish my day strong so I booked a vinyasa class at Beyond Yoga in Il Terrazzo. Last week, I came from an event in Makati and decided to wait for the Cupcake to finish work so we could have a dinner date. While waiting, I booked another vinyasa class at Bliss Yoga in Legazpi Village. Then the following day, after another event in Century City Mall, I decided to do the C.O.R.E. Fitness of Elorde Gym along Makati Avenue.
Vinyasa Flow with @blissyogamanila today, Core and Boxing with @elordegym tomorrow, @planaforma on Thursday, and a whole lot of cardio this weekend. It's like I came back from the States a different person. Seriously though–I started running again when I was in California, going as far as 4 miles every other day. I felt stronger and healthier (mentally and physically), and I really wanted to be able to take that home with me (though I wasn't sure if I could). Thanks to @guavapassmnl for making sure it still happened. Booking fitness classes all over Metro Manila has never been easier! #GretasJunkyard
It’s that easy and hassle-free! You only need to subscribe to the app (I believe there’s even an ongoing promo) and GuavaPass takes care of everything. From what I read, you can book a specific partner studio up to 3 times in a month. This is ideal for someone who doesn’t want to commit to just one fitness studio, and would like to explore different ways to work out (like me). And like I said, if you’re on-the-go, you can squeeze in a little workout wherever you may be, because for sure there will be a fitness class or studio that’s near you.
I DIED, RESURRECTED, PUKED, AND DIED AGAIN. Just kidding. ✌ But this was the first time in a looong while that I felt like throwing up after a workout. It was so good though! I felt the burn all over my arms, core, thighs, and legs, and when it ended, I kind of wanted to start all over again. If you're looking for a challenge and something new, I suggest doing the C.O.R.E Fitness with @elordet0pteam! I had a one-on-one session with one of their trainers today, and he really pushed me to my limit. Booked the session via @guavapassmnl, too! #GretasJunkyard #GretasJunkyardVideos
